Jumelage Montreuil-Juigné Kamen
Are you a child in the fourth or fifth grade and would you like to exchange ideas with Germans your own age? Hallo Kinder is for you !
Who is the audience?
Children from CM1 and CM2 from the city of Montreuil-Juigné
How do I sign up?
All children are given information on the dates and times of registration with the Twinning Committee
What do we do during these meetings?
We learn to introduce ourselves, to learn a few German words, numbers, colours, days, and months of the year.
We discover Germany: through its traditions (St Martin’s Day, St Nicholas’ Day, Carnival…), its way of life through videos, fun questionnaires, recipes.
We make gifts, small crafts, Christmas or Easter cards that will please our pen pal.
We write letters!
The twinning committee proposes activities for the children of all the classes of CM1 and CM2 of Montreuil Juigné:
As part of the Kamenoise days (1ʳᵉ fortnight of September), the twinning committee invites all CM1 and CM2 classes of the 4 schools of Montreuil-Juigné to participate and discover a traditional German breakfast.
Between 200 and 250 children are welcomed at the Salle Jacques Brel, accompanied by their school teachers. We present them the children’s correspondence activity “Hallo Kinder!
This is an event that is awaited and appreciated every year by the children and widely echoed by their families!
The children’s letter exchange: Hallo Kinder! and Bonjour AG!
– The meeting with the pen pals:
This is a highlight of the exchange which takes place alternately in France and in Germany.
The children live together for a whole weekend, generally the weekend of the Ascension, and share some great moments.
It is an opportunity to :
Get to know their pen pals,
Share meals, common activities, discover a French or German family
Playing indoor and outdoor group games
Discover the city, the commune, typical places in our country
Our pen pals come to Montreuil Juigné:

Transport is provided by the German bus and its drivers.
We go to Kamen :
We are accommodated in a youth hostel, with group rooms, common room and self-service.
The programme of activities :
