Our European seminars

European seminar on the environment

The idea of a European seminar for young people seduced the twinning committee which proposed to organise the following one: a seminar to develop Zero Waste ideas in our cities. It is organised in collaboration with the Committee and the Youth Space, with exchanges, debates, visits and especially DIY (do it yourself) workshops during 3 days. It had to be postponed, first to 2021, due to lack of time, but it is now planned for October 2022. However, there was still a Zero Waste day in videoconference with a group of Kamen: Shopping and cooking as Zero Waste as possible, BeeWrap and Tawashi workshops, Cosmetics (coffee grounds peeling).

Project supported by the OFAJ.

Europe seminar

On the occasion of the European Parliament elections and in the framework of a call for projects from the North Rhine-Westphalia region, the twinning committee organised a seminar on the European Union. The aim was to bring together young people from its twin towns to raise their awareness of the European idea, to make them aware of how the European Union works and to make them ambassadors of the European idea in their town. Young people from Ängelholm in Sweden, Sulecin in Poland, Kamen, Unkel in Germany (Rhineland-Palatinate) and Montreuil-Juigné exchanged, discussed and learned about the European Union through fun activities. The seminar was organised by the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation and the twinning department of the city of Kamen. The last activity was to present a vision of “Europe in the future”.
